Brightek Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. (TWSE stock code: 5244), a leading provider of integrated optoelectronic solutions, today announces the launch of its latest EVO series of ICLEDs. Specifically designed for automotive ambient lighting, the RGB ICLED EVO series represents a new generation of ICLED products tailored to the smart cockpit trend. Featuring a powerful new IC design, EVO offers 16 million times more color richness than a traditional IC-LED, up to 7000 mcd of brightness, intelligent temperature sensing, and voltage detection capabilities. These features allow for precise color calibration based on the installation environment and various intelligent surfaces, setting a new standard for automotive ICLED applications. The EVO ICLED product will debut at the 2024 DVN Detroit Workshop, held from June 11-12 in Livonia, Michigan.

EVO Solves Key Challenges in Automotive Ambient Lighting with Four Major Features

Automotive ambient lighting applications encounter several challenges, such as smooth color and brightness adjustment, varying brightness requirements for different installation positions, voltage tolerance against car surges, and crucial color consistency. Addressing these issues, Brightek has introduced the EVO series with the following innovative features:

1.     16-bit PWM Color Mixing Technology: The EVO series utilizes 16-bit PWM grayscale color mixing technology, providing 16 million times more color expression than traditional 8-bit products. This enables finer and more realistic color performance, adapting to various temperatures and interior panels or intelligent surfaces, and ensuring smooth color transitions.

2.     Outstanding Brightness up to 7000 mcd: With 256 levels of current adjustment, the EVO series delivers brightness up to 7000 mcd, capable of penetrating various smart surfaces within the vehicle. This versatility supports diverse interior designs and is also suitable for exterior ambient lighting applications.

3.     2 SDCM Color Consistency: The EVO series maintains RGB current variations within ±2%, minimizing color differences of each ICLED to an almost imperceptible 2 SDCM, exceeding the market standard of 3 SDCM. This ensures the high aesthetic standards demanded by luxury vehicles.

4.     Temperature and Voltage Anomaly Sensing: The advanced EVO series features intelligent temperature and voltage sensing capabilities, stable operation at temperatures up to 125°C, and overheat protection.

General Manager of Brightek Optoelectronics, Mr. Chih-Hung Tzeng, stated: "Brightek has extensive experience in the automotive ambient lighting industry, pioneering the introduction of ICLED products to the Chinese automotive market in 2019. Our ICLED products are utilized by major international car brands, reflecting our deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by our automotive clients. The EVO iCLed product represents not only an advanced iCLed level but also a next-generation platform tailored for the smart cockpit trend. By developing proprietary software and algorithms, we offer customers comprehensive solutions, ensuring the EVO platform delivers optimal performance at the client end."

Mr. Tzeng will also be delivering a talk at the 31st DVN Detroit Workshop titled "Machine-Learning Optimized Tuning Solution for IC-LED Based Ambient Lighting Applications." This presentation will explore how advanced algorithms enable precise color control in ICLED ambient lighting, propelling the new ICLED ambient lighting solution to the international market.
