Brightek Advances Sustainability with Solar Energy Integration at Jiangsu Manufacturing Base

Brightek Optoelectronics, a leading global provider of high-quality LED and sensor packaging and optoelectronic solutions, today announced a significant milestone in its commitment to "Practicing Environmental Sustainability through Technology". As part of its strategic integration of green manufacturing and carbon reduction into core operations, the company has completed the installation of an extensive solar power system across the rooftops of its Jiangsu factory and power distribution facilities.

This initiative is a concrete step toward fulfilling Brightek’s environmental pledges by significantly increasing the factory’s green energy self-sufficiency. The new solar infrastructure covers approximately 900 m2 and is capable of generating 660,000 kWh annually. With an impressive energy utilization efficiency of 90%, the system is projected to save the facility 594,000 kWh of electricity per year. This move not only reduces the company’s reliance on external power but also effectively lowers carbon emissions while maximizing overall energy efficiency.

Strategic Energy Optimization for Precision Manufacturing

For Brightek, optimizing the energy structure is a cornerstone of corporate longevity, particularly given the rigorous power stability required for precision manufacturing and advanced semiconductor packaging. The solar project was integrated into the Jiangsu factory's roadmap from the early planning stages to ensure a proactive approach to clean energy.

The project operates under a Leasing Solar Panel agreement in partnership with professional energy vendors. Under this agreement, the vendor manages the installation and maintenance of the rooftop panels, while Brightek pays a service fee of RMB 0.4 per kWh based on actual power generation. At the conclusion of the 20-year lease term, ownership of the entire solar infrastructure will transfer to Brightek. This model allows the company to balance operational flexibility with long-term energy goals, creating a more resilient and sustainable optoelectronics manufacturing ecosystem.
